Iqbal Memorial Institute (B) +2 Deptt. organised a debate competition on September 23, 2017 at 1:30 pm in the school auditorium. Infact, it was a session to encourage first time speakers to overcome stage fear. There were 13 teams to debate on the varied topics, one speaker in favour and the other against.
Topics for discussion were:
- Should mothers be working or not
- For better learning, tablets should replace text books. Yes or no
- Restoring peace through talk or war
- Social networking sites, good or bad
- For happy living joint family or nuclear family
The judges for the competition were Mr. Majid Jehangir, IMI (B) and Mrs. Anjuman, IMI [G (+2 Deptt.)]. Prof. Masood Sahib, IMI (+2 Deptt.) Coordinator witnessed the first half of the program. Following teams were declared winners:

The Best Speaker’s Award was bagged by Mohammad Saqib Wani, Class XII for debating on the topic “Should Mother be working” and he spoke against the topic convincing the judges and the audience with his influencing viewpoints. The principal gave away the prizes to the winners. First position holders got gold medal 2nd silver, and the third bronze medal respectively.
The program concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by the program Incharge Mrs. Nuzhat Wadera, English Lecturer, IMI [B (+2 Deptt.)]
